Medics HELP is currently seeking both medical and non-medical volunteers for our ongoing assistance project in Africa.
Medical volunteers will be working in healthcare institutions such as clinics, hospitals and AIDS education Centres, assisting overwhelmed and overworked locals in providing direct patient care. Once The level of care provided by the volunteer will depend on his or her level of certification.
We are seeking the following qualified medical volunteers:
- Medical students, Paramedic students and Nursing students (must have completed 1 year of school and be in good standing)
* Pre-medical students will not be considered for medical
positions. Sorry.
Non-medical volunteers will be working in primary schools and orphanages, providing education and orphan care. Teaching and childcare qualifications are not necessary, although they are a plus. There may also be positions available in some AIDS education clinics for interested non-medical volunteers.
All volunteers may opt to volunteer for anywhere from 2 weeks up to 1 year and will most likely be accomodated with a host family for their volunteer deployment unless accomodations are available directly at the site (clinic, orphanage, etc.).
As we are still more than a year away from implementing the start of this project, we do not have further details at this time regarding any specific placements available, or details of transport or accomodation.
Please see the "About Us" and "Projects" pages for more details about Medics HELP.and our upcoming projects.
